Nope
Well, number two was not the magic number. Hoping enough doesn't always work I suppose. We learned Sunday that try number three will be taking place at the end of the year. Different donor this time as we do not have access to the one we have been using anymore. Hopefully I can get my body in gear and cooperating by then.

If at first you don't succeed, try again
Well, try one didn't work, so today was try number two. We were not expecting it to be so soon, but when the little pink line says go, we go. We were planning to take off work on Thursday or Friday to make the trip to Eugene for the insemination, but the line was dark this morning. Went to school, and then in the bathroom after class I did two more just to make sure. Sure enough, we decided it was time, so L went to one class and then skipped the other with her pregnant teachers blessing. We decided better early than late as they think this might be the problem last time.
The swimmers this month time were a little better as well. TMC count was 21 million still, but motility was up to 3.5 from 3.0 last time. Go swimmers go. we layed with the hips elevated for 15 mins in the office, and then went to the car and layed elevated in the backseat for another 10 or so mins just for good measure. We then went and got the amazing bbq pulled pork and brisket...if you want some goooood bbq, this is the place. We decided after that to go home and let out the little rascals since they had been home alone all day. Stopped at Joanne fabrics and got cord for our new necklaces that we made from our good luck charms for today.
Tomorrow I have school all day, so I am off to bed. We decided not to tell everyone we were trying again because it adds to the stress already there naturally. Only a few people know, and when we get pregnant, we will tell everyone. Crossing our fingers harder and relaxing more this time hoping for a different result!

We did it
It has been a crazy week or so! On Sept 2nd we went in for our first appt witht he doctor. We chatted and planned to wait till Oct for our first try. Well after a night of talking about it we decided to go for it this month and then on Sept 8th we were in the office again. This time for insenmination!
It was not nearly as bad as people make it sound. We did the ovulation test the afternoon before before the Labor day BBQ we were going to.Line was super dark in comparison to the previous ones, which were almost non existent. A friend there had just been through all of this a couple months ago and when we showed her the picture I took she said we needed to go in for sure. So, 6:30 the following morning when I woke up and my temp had gone up, we got excited. Doc didn't open till 8:30 so we got ready and started driving. By the time they opened we were getting close, and when we go to the office, they were almost ready. We went in and did the final stuff, and by 10:00am L and Lesa (the nurse) were doing the insem. L and I were both very excited she got to help. After the big event we went out for some southern soul food to make it final.
Now we sit and wait...not easy at all. We are not good at this game, and neither of us is sure if we are pregnant or not. I am afraid I trying to read into it to much, and L changes her mind every few hours. It is not a fun game, we just want to know for sure!

Happy thoughts
Well, I spoke to the doctor's office this week and since he will be taking most of August off, our appointment is scheduled for September 2nd. I am really wxcited. Hopinh to move things along, but one hold up...we do not want a Leo baby. Sad I know, but after talking about all the leos we know, we just don't want to deal with it. After October the soonest we can go in to be inseminated is not until December, as we will be out of town in Nov into the start of December. Suppose we will wait and see how it all goes at the doctor to start with.
I am on meds for a sinus infection, and thank goodness they are working, I was miserable! Hopefully I will feel like me again soon, and I think my wonderful wife will appreciate that as well. She took care of me pretty well while I was feeling so crappy.
This has nothing to do with much of anything except needing to vent, but we got to find out what our new shifts were at work today. As some of the newer employees, we got what was left after everyone else has chosen theirs...keep in mind there are 600-700 employees where I work. We had been told all this time that we would get a fair shot just like everyone else at a shift that was good. Turns out there was never any intention of this happening, so due to false expectations, I am pretty unhappy about the whole thing. We both ended up on a team that is going to be dispersed before the new shift even starts in August, so we have no idea what our shift will even be for another 3-4 weeks. Not so good when you are also going to school and starting this fall, school full time! We'll see how it goes.
I have decided I want to learn to work a sewing machine, as I want to be really crafty, but just need somewhere to start. I think one of my favorite places to go is the fabric store, and that is a little strange. I want to be able to make stuff for the baby(ies) and not get all storebought stuff. That is not as special or cost effective.
Doggy cuddle time for now, then to do some homework. Fun fun!

Numero Uno
Here I sit at the computer, home sick from work. I decided to use a blog to keep track of the craziness of trying to become mommies. Liz will probably be the one doing the majority of the posting. This should be a little easier than sending out emails to individual people with updates all the time. I'm not sure if it will be interesting, but a way to keep record non the less.
After looking, talking, thinking and wanting for a long time, we decided not to postpone the start of our family any more. After doctors appointments for me (Liz) to make sure I am healthy, a scare from weird bloodtests... 9 vials of blood later, I was given a clean bill of health to start the process. We have contacted a doctor, as we have decided to go for IUI vs. turkey baster, and should get to go see them soon to get the ball rolling I hope. I started the prenatals already and and have been eating a lot healthier. No coffee, no alcohol, much less sugar, and many other things that can reduce fertility or be bad for a baby. We have picked out our baby juice (sperm) and it is ready and waiting for us to come and get it when the time comes. We have been baby shopping, and have much more than we should at this point in time, just waiting for the little ones to use it all. At this point it is just a waiting game...darn doctors.
